Don't be fooled by the title that today was a lousy day. Instead, it has been a very memorable fun day for me and also an important day in the history of Singapore. For Singapore, today is polling day for the country's 7th president and 4th to be elected. As for my family, today's is the last day of the holidays stay in Singapore by YiYi and her family. We had brunch at RedStar, a Chinese teahouse that existed since my grandparents' era, and famous for their delicious dimsum. Daddy did not play golf today and was able to join us. He also agreed to play basketball with us at Pinnacles.
Something happened in the toilet at Redstar that really made my day. Mummy was really proud of me too and said that we should remember this in my heart (of course, I'm blogging it here so that I can remember this event even after many many years later). As I came out of the toilet cubicle, an old woman with tiny eyes smiled kindly at me and kept nodding her head as she whispered to me, "Very good girl". I was puzzled. ??? Why was I being praised? There's a chinese saying " 受宠若惊". Mummy smiled at me and said that she'll tell me later. After the old lady walked away, mummy said that as I was inside the toilet cubcible, the old lady walked over to my mummy and said gently to her that "You have a very polite daughter". Mummy said she felt pleasantly surprised and wondered why too. The old lady gave her explanation. "Your daughter said Mummy Sorry to make you wait for me, thank you mummy!" Ah hah! hehehe :)
In the afternoon, the grey clouds appeared but nothing could us from having fun. It started to drizzle lightly as we walked to Pinnacles. We took shelter at a sloped pathway above the basketball court. There was a fence along the sloped pathway for saftey reasons. After waiting a few minutes, I ran down the sloped pathway and asked Daddy to throw the basketball down. Daddy throwed the ball down and it bounced very high. We laughed and cheered. Then, this great idea of a new way of playing basketball evolved. Daddy n mummy came down and YY, KK and me stayed above at the upper level. Daddy took aim and shoot the ball above the fence to the upper level. He missed and the ball hit the fence and bounced back. We chanted "Lousy Bear Bear, lousy bear bear, lousy bear bear" again and again until Daddy shoot the ball up to our level. :P YY, KK and me took turns to throw the ball down to the court and wait for daddy to throw the ball up again. When he missed, we chant again and with actions too. Flap your arms like chicken wings! <_< In between, mummy also took aim to shoot the basketball into the basketball basket but she missed and we chant "Lousy bear bear" again. Yiyi and YiJiong joined us in the game later too.
Late evening, we send Yiyi, YY and KK to the airport. In Gong Gong's car, YY said that he liked the Lousy Bear Bear song that we have chanted in the afternoon. Yiyi asked why Lousy Bear Bear? Where's the bear when we are playing basketball? Or who is the bear? ;p I answered YiYi that it's Lousy Bad Bad but YY and KK chanted as Lousy Bear Bear... LOL :D
